Eidok Marketplace

Effective: 28 September 2026

Eidok Marketplace Policy

Buy smart. Sell safely. Grow with a community that trusts you.

The Eidok Marketplace is where people, small businesses and online shops show their products and services to the Eidok community. Shoppers browse by category and location, see real photos, prices and reviews, message sellers and buy with confidence. This policy explains how the Marketplace works, what can and cannot be sold, how buyers and sellers should behave, and what we do when something goes wrong. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

In short

  • Eidok shows listings; sales are between buyers and sellers.
  • Products from connected online shops have a “Buy Now” button that opens the product on the shop’s own website, where you order and pay.
  • Sellers must be 18+, honest and legal. Some items are never allowed.
  • Buyers should check sellers, pay safely and report anything suspicious.

1. How the Marketplace Works

1.1 Where listings come from

There are two kinds of listings:

  • Listings created on Eidok. An eligible person or Page creates a product post with photos, a price, condition (new or used), a category, a location and a description. Buyers contact the seller through Eidok messages and agree the sale directly.
  • Products from connected online shops. Shops whose websites are built on the Metanoz platform can connect with Eidok Link. Their products appear automatically on their Eidok Page and in the Marketplace and are kept up to date. Buyers tap Buy Now to order on the shop’s own website.

1.2 Where listings appear

  • in the Marketplace, organised by category;
  • on the seller’s profile or Page store;
  • in the news feeds of people who follow the seller or Page;
  • in search results and, for public listings, search engines.

1.3 Categories

Listings are organised into categories such as Apparel & Accessories, Autos & Vehicles, Baby & Children’s Products, Beauty Products & Services, Computers & Peripherals, Consumer Electronics, Gifts & Occasions, Home & Garden and Other. Choose the category that best fits your product.

2. Eidok’s Role

  • Eidok provides the space where listings are shown and tools to connect buyers and sellers.
  • Unless we clearly state otherwise, Eidok is not the seller, does not own or store the products, does not handle payment or delivery, and is not a party to any sale.
  • We do not inspect products and cannot guarantee their quality, safety, legality, authenticity or delivery, or the accuracy of listings.
  • We do set and enforce rules, remove listings and sellers that break them, and act on reports from the community.

3. Who Can Sell

  • Sellers must be at least 18 years old.
  • Sellers must use their real identity or a genuine Business Page, and must be authorised to sell the item.
  • Sellers must comply with all laws that apply to them, including consumer protection, product safety, tax, import/export and licensing laws.
  • Businesses should display accurate contact information on their Page, including a phone number or address where appropriate.
  • People whose selling privileges have been removed may not sell through another account.

4. Listing Standards

4.1 Photos

  • Use real photos of the actual item, or official images that accurately represent it.
  • Do not use photos taken from other sellers or websites without permission.
  • Photos must not contain nudity, violence or misleading edits.

4.2 Title and description

  • Describe the product honestly: what it is, brand and model, size, colour, specifications and what is included.
  • State the condition clearly (new or used) and mention any defects, damage or missing parts.
  • Do not stuff titles with unrelated keywords or copy other listings.

4.3 Price

  • Show the real selling price. Do not use fake prices such as “0” or “1” to attract attention.
  • If there is a discount, the original price must be a genuine price at which the product was actually offered.
  • Mention any extra costs, such as delivery charges, clearly.

4.4 Availability and duplicates

  • Only list items you have and are ready to sell. Mark items as sold or remove them when they are no longer available.
  • Do not post the same item repeatedly or in multiple categories.

5. Prohibited Items and Services

The following may never be sold, offered, promoted or exchanged on Eidok — in the Marketplace, posts, groups, pages or messages:

  • Drugs: illegal drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and prescription medicines.
  • Weapons: firearms, ammunition, explosives, weapon parts and accessories, and weapons designed to injure people.
  • Tobacco, alcohol and vaping products where prohibited by law, and any such products to minors.
  • Counterfeit and pirated goods: fake branded products, replicas, pirated software, films, music and books.
  • Stolen goods and items obtained illegally.
  • People and body parts: human trafficking, organs, blood, tissue and bodily fluids.
  • Animals: endangered or protected species and their parts, and live animals where prohibited.
  • Adult content: sexual products and services, and sexually explicit material.
  • Gambling: gambling services and lottery tickets where prohibited.
  • Financial fraud: pyramid schemes, “get-rich-quick” offers, fake investments, counterfeit currency.
  • Documents and identity: fake or stolen IDs, passports, certificates, degrees, licences or official documents.
  • Digital fraud: accounts, followers, likes, reviews, hacked data, stolen card details and hacking services.
  • Hazardous and recalled products: dangerous chemicals, recalled items and products that fail safety standards.
  • Anything illegal where the seller or buyer is located.

6. Restricted Items

Some items are allowed only under conditions:

  • Used electronics must be accurately described, including any faults, and must not be stolen or blacklisted devices.
  • Health, beauty and food products must be safe, properly labelled, within their expiry date and legal to sell.
  • Vehicles must be legally owned by the seller, with accurate details about condition and documents.
  • Services (such as repairs, tuition or delivery) must be real, lawful and described honestly, and must not involve adult or illegal services.
  • Digital products must be the seller’s own work or properly licensed for resale.

7. Pricing, Payment, Delivery and Returns

  • Payment: buyers and sellers agree how to pay. For local sales, cash on delivery or inspecting the item before paying are safest. For “Buy Now” products, payment happens on the shop’s website using the methods it offers.
  • Delivery: sellers must be clear about delivery areas, times and charges, and must ship what was described.
  • Returns and refunds: sellers should publish a clear return policy and honour it, as well as any rights buyers have under consumer protection law.
  • Fees: if any fees apply to listing or promoting products on Eidok, they will be shown to you before you confirm.

8. Connected Shops and “Buy Now”

  • Products from connected shops are synchronised automatically from the shop’s website: titles, descriptions, photos and prices are updated, new products are added and removed products are hidden.
  • “Buy Now” opens the exact product page on the shop’s official website. Always check that you are on the shop’s website before paying.
  • Your order, payment, delivery, returns and customer support are handled by the shop under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Shop owners are responsible for the accuracy of their product information and for fulfilling orders.
  • Shop owners can disconnect at any time, which hides their synced products from Eidok.

9. Reviews and Ratings

  • Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience with the product or seller.
  • Sellers may not write reviews of their own products, pay for positive reviews, offer rewards in exchange for reviews, or pressure buyers to change reviews.
  • Reviews must not contain personal information, hate speech, harassment or spam.
  • We may remove reviews that break these rules.

10. Safety Tips for Buyers

  • Check the seller: look at their profile or Page, reviews, how long they have been on Eidok and whether they have a real website.
  • Compare prices: be cautious of prices far below the market.
  • Ask questions and ask for extra photos before you buy.
  • Meet safely for local sales: a busy public place, in daylight, ideally with a friend.
  • Inspect before you pay where possible, or use cash on delivery.
  • Never pay in advance to someone who pressures you, refuses to meet, or asks you to move to another app.
  • Keep records of messages, receipts and tracking numbers.
  • Leave an honest review to help others.

11. Safety Tips for Sellers

  • Confirm orders and delivery addresses to avoid fake orders.
  • Be cautious of buyers who send “payment confirmation” screenshots, overpay and ask for a refund, or ask you to use an unfamiliar payment link.
  • Never share passwords, OTP codes or bank login details.
  • Reply quickly and politely, and keep your listings up to date.
  • Be clear about delivery times, charges and return policy to avoid disputes.

12. Common Scams to Watch For

ScamWhat it looks like
Advance payment“Pay a deposit first and I’ll send it”, then the seller disappears
Fake payment proofAn edited screenshot claiming money has been sent
OverpaymentThe buyer “accidentally” pays too much and asks for the difference back
Phishing linkA link to a fake payment or delivery page asking for your card or OTP
Too-good-to-be-trueNew phones or electronics at a fraction of the normal price
ImpersonationA fake Page using a well-known brand’s name and logo

If you see any of these, stop, do not pay, and report the listing or account.

13. Problems, Disputes and Reporting

  1. Contact the seller first to try to resolve the problem.
  2. For “Buy Now” purchases, contact the shop using the contact details on its website.
  3. Report listings or sellers that are fraudulent, misleading or break this policy using the Report option on the post or Page.
  4. Email us at eidokoffice@gmail.com with links and screenshots for serious cases.
  5. Contact the authorities (police or consumer protection authorities) in cases of fraud.

Eidok may help where it can, but because we are not a party to the sale, we cannot guarantee refunds.

14. Enforcement

We may remove listings, reduce their visibility, limit or remove selling privileges, remove Pages, disconnect shops and disable accounts that break this policy, our Community Protection Guidelines or the law. We may report serious fraud and illegal sales to the authorities.
