Community Protection Guidelines

Effective: 28 September 2026

Eidok Community Protection Guidelines

Your freedom matters — and so does everyone else’s safety.

Eidok brings together people from many countries, cultures, languages, religions and political views. We want every one of them to be able to speak freely, share their lives and disagree openly — without being threatened, exploited, deceived or hurt. These Community Protection Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed on Eidok and what happens when the rules are broken.

They apply to everyone and to everything on the platform: profiles, usernames, posts, photos, videos, reels, stories, live broadcasts, comments, reactions, private messages, groups, pages, events, marketplace listings, offers, jobs, blogs, courses, forums, Adda rooms, Moment Match moments and chats, and AI requests. They form part of our Terms of Service.

Our Principles

  • Voice. We want people to share ideas, opinions, news, art and stories — including ones others find uncomfortable or disagree with.
  • Safety. Expression that threatens, intimidates, exploits or endangers people is not allowed.
  • Dignity. Everyone deserves respect regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or serious illness.
  • Authenticity. People and organisations should be who they say they are, and information should not be deliberately deceptive.
  • Privacy. Personal information belongs to the person it describes.

1. Violence and Dangerous Organisations

Not allowed

  • Threats to kill, injure, kidnap or sexually assault any person or group, including “jokes” that could reasonably be taken seriously.
  • Calls for violence against people or property, or wishing serious harm on a specific person.
  • Praise, support, representation or recruitment for terrorist organisations, violent extremist groups, organised hate groups or criminal organisations.
  • Glorifying or celebrating mass-casualty attacks, their perpetrators or their manifestos.
  • Instructions for making weapons or explosives with the intent to harm people.
  • Coordinating or promoting violence at protests, events or elections.

Allowed

  • News reporting, documentaries and educational discussion about violence and extremism.
  • Condemning violence or raising awareness of it.
  • Clearly fictional, artistic or sporting depictions (for example, films, video games or martial arts) that do not target real people.

2. Child Safety

We have zero tolerance for the exploitation of children. See also our Children’s Safety & Guidance Policy.

Not allowed

  • Any content that sexualises minors, including real, drawn, animated or AI-generated images, text or audio.
  • Grooming: adults seeking sexual, romantic or secretive contact with minors, requesting images, or trying to move conversations to other apps to avoid detection.
  • Soliciting, sharing or trading child sexual abuse material, or linking to it.
  • Content that shows or promotes child abuse, child marriage, child labour or trafficking.
  • Sharing a child’s personal information (school, address, routine) in a way that puts them at risk.
  • Dangerous challenges targeted at or likely to be copied by young people.

What happens

Content is removed immediately, the accounts involved are permanently disabled and the matter is reported to the relevant authorities.

3. Adult Nudity and Sexual Content

Not allowed

  • Pornography, sexually explicit images or videos, and visible genitals or sexual activity.
  • Offering, requesting or promoting sexual services, including escort services and paid sexual content.
  • Unwanted sexual messages, comments or advances, including in private messages and Moment Match chats.
  • Sharing, or threatening to share, intimate images of someone without their consent (“revenge porn”), or sextortion.
  • Sexually suggestive content that uses a person’s image without their consent, including AI-generated “deepfakes”.

Allowed

  • Breastfeeding, childbirth and health-related content such as mastectomy scars and medical education.
  • Non-sexual artistic nudity in paintings and sculptures.
  • Sexual health education and awareness shared in a non-explicit way.

4. Hateful Conduct

Not allowed

  • Attacking people based on protected characteristics — race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or serious illness.
  • Dehumanising language comparing such groups to animals, insects, disease, filth or criminals.
  • Slurs and harmful stereotypes used to demean.
  • Calls for exclusion, segregation, expulsion or violence against a protected group.
  • Denying or mocking well-documented atrocities such as genocides.
  • Hateful symbols, images or usernames.

Allowed

  • Criticising ideas, religions as belief systems, governments and public institutions.
  • Discussing, reporting on or condemning hate speech in order to challenge it.
  • Reclaimed words used by members of the group itself in a non-hateful way.

5. Bullying and Harassment

Not allowed

  • Repeatedly targeting a person with unwanted messages, insults, mockery or humiliation.
  • Degrading comments about someone’s appearance, body, family or personal circumstances.
  • Encouraging others to harass someone (“brigading”), or creating new accounts to contact someone who has blocked you.
  • Sharing someone’s private information to intimidate them (“doxxing”).
  • Threatening to expose someone’s private information or images.
  • Wishing or celebrating serious harm to a private individual.

Allowed

  • Robust criticism of public figures’ public actions and statements.
  • Friendly banter between friends where the person targeted is clearly participating.

6. Suicide, Self-Harm and Eating Disorders

Not allowed

  • Encouraging, instructing or glorifying suicide or self-injury.
  • Sharing methods of self-harm or suicide.
  • Promoting eating disorders or dangerous weight-loss behaviours.
  • Mocking people who have attempted suicide or self-harm.

Allowed

  • Sharing personal experiences of recovery and seeking support.
  • Awareness and prevention content from health organisations.

If you see someone in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then report the content.

7. Violent and Graphic Content

Not allowed

  • Gore, dismemberment, visible severe injuries or dead bodies shared to shock or glorify.
  • Videos of real people being killed or tortured.
  • Animal cruelty, including staged animal fights.

Allowed with care

  • Newsworthy content about wars, disasters, accidents or human rights abuses, shared to inform or document. We may add a warning screen or limit who can see it.

8. Misinformation and Manipulated Media

Not allowed

  • False information that could lead to violence or imminent physical harm, such as fabricated claims that incite attacks on a community.
  • Harmful health misinformation, including false claims about vaccines, dangerous “cures” or advice to avoid proven treatment.
  • Misleading information about how, when or where to vote, or false claims intended to suppress participation in elections.
  • Manipulated, fabricated or AI-generated images, audio or video presented as real in a way that is likely to deceive people about important events or put a person at risk.
  • Fake news websites or accounts impersonating real news organisations.

What we do

Depending on the risk, we may remove the content, add context or a label, reduce how widely it is shown, or link to reliable information such as reporting from Eye News BD and other credible sources. Satire and parody are allowed when they are clearly identifiable as such.

9. Scams, Fraud and Spam

Not allowed

  • Fake giveaways, lotteries, prizes or “you have won” messages.
  • Investment, cryptocurrency, loan, job or romance scams, and advance-fee fraud.
  • Phishing links or pages that try to steal passwords, codes or payment details.
  • Selling fake or non-existent products, or taking payment without delivering.
  • Pyramid, Ponzi and multi-level schemes that rely on recruiting others.
  • Fake engagement: buying or selling likes, followers, comments, reviews, views or accounts; engagement pods designed to game the system.
  • Posting the same content repeatedly, mass-tagging, mass-messaging or using automation to post or interact.
  • Misleading links and clickbait designed to trick people into leaving Eidok.

10. Authenticity and Impersonation

Not allowed

  • Pretending to be another person, business, brand, organisation or public figure.
  • Using someone else’s photos as your profile picture to deceive people.
  • Creating fake accounts or networks of accounts to mislead people, manipulate discussions or evade enforcement.
  • Misrepresenting who operates a Page or Group, or its purpose.

Allowed

  • Parody, commentary and fan accounts that clearly state they are not the real person or organisation.
  • Pen names and brand names used transparently.

11. Privacy

Not allowed

  • Sharing someone’s private information without permission, including phone numbers, home addresses, ID or passport numbers, financial or medical information and private messages.
  • Sharing images or videos of people in private situations (such as at home or in hospital) without their consent.
  • Covertly recording people, including in Adda rooms, and sharing the recordings.
  • Trying to locate, track or stalk a person.

If content on Eidok shares your private information, report it and we will review it quickly.

12. Regulated Goods and Services

Buying, selling, trading or promoting the following is not allowed anywhere on Eidok, including in posts, groups, messages and the Marketplace:

  • illegal drugs, prescription medicines and drug paraphernalia;
  • firearms, ammunition, explosives and weapon parts;
  • tobacco, alcohol and vaping products where prohibited;
  • counterfeit or pirated goods and stolen property;
  • endangered animals and animal parts; human organs or body parts;
  • gambling services, where prohibited;
  • fake documents, IDs, certificates, currency or reviews.

See the full list in our Marketplace Policy.

13. Intellectual Property

  • Do not post content you do not own or have permission to share, such as re-uploading films, TV shows, music, sports broadcasts, books or other creators’ videos.
  • Do not sell counterfeit goods or use others’ trademarks to mislead.
  • Rights holders can report infringement as described in our Terms of Service. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.

14. Platform Integrity and Security

  • Do not hack, disrupt or overload Eidok, or attempt to access accounts or data without permission.
  • Do not distribute malware or links to malicious websites.
  • Do not scrape Eidok or use bots to create accounts, post or interact.
  • Do not try to trick our AI features into producing harmful content or revealing information about other users.
  • Do not attempt to bypass age checks, safety filters, rate limits or enforcement actions.

15. Talking with Strangers: Moment Match and Adda

Some Eidok features connect you with people you do not know. These spaces have extra rules:

  • Do not ask for or share phone numbers, home addresses, social media handles, bank details or money.
  • Do not send sexual comments, advances or images.
  • Do not try to identify, locate or follow the other person outside Eidok.
  • Do not share screenshots of someone’s moment or chat to mock them.
  • Be kind and patient — the other person may be from a very different culture, and automatic translation is not perfect.

Messages that break these rules may be blocked before they are delivered. People who are reported can no longer be matched with the person who reported them, and repeat offenders lose access to these features or their account.

16. Context and Exceptions

Context matters. The same words or images can be harmful in one situation and important in another. When reviewing content, we consider:

  • whether it is news reporting, documentary, education, art, satire or counter-speech;
  • the intent and likely effect on the people involved;
  • whether the person targeted is a public figure acting in a public role or a private individual;
  • local laws and cultural context;
  • whether the content includes a warning or is shared to raise awareness.

We may allow content that would otherwise break these rules when it is newsworthy and in the public interest, and we may add a warning screen or limit who can see it.

17. How We Enforce

We find violations through user reports, automated detection and review by our team. Depending on how severe the violation is, whether it was intentional and whether it has happened before, we may:

  • remove the content;
  • add a warning screen, label or context;
  • reduce how widely the content is distributed;
  • restrict features temporarily, such as posting, commenting, messaging, going live, selling or using Moment Match;
  • require you to remove content before you can continue using your account;
  • suspend the account for a period of time;
  • permanently disable the account, and take steps to stop the person from creating new accounts;
  • report the matter to law enforcement where there is a risk of harm or a legal requirement.

The most serious violations — including child sexual exploitation, credible threats of violence, terrorism and non-consensual intimate imagery — result in immediate permanent removal.

18. How to Report

  • Posts, comments, profiles, pages, groups and listings: open the menu (…) and choose Report.
  • Private messages: report the conversation or the person from the chat.
  • Moment Match: choose Report & block from the chat menu — the chat ends immediately.
  • Block anyone you do not want to hear from. They are not told that you blocked them.
  • By email: write to eidokoffice@gmail.com with a link to the content and a short description.

Reports are confidential — we do not tell the person who reported them. Please do not report content just because you disagree with it; false reporting wastes time that could protect someone in danger.

19. Appeals

We make mistakes sometimes. If you believe we removed your content or restricted your account in error, contact us at eidokoffice@gmail.com with your username, a link to the content (if available) and why you think the decision was wrong. A member of our team will review it, and if we got it wrong, we will restore the content or account.
