The AI typically maintains a balanced troop composition of roughly 33% infantry, 33% lancers, and 33% marksmen during most stages, except for the tenth where it shifts to approximately 53% infantry, 27% lancers, and 20% marksmen. To improve your chances in the tenth stage, consider adjusting your troop ratios accordingly.

In zones like Land of the Brave and Gaia Heart, both you and the AI deploy up to three armies, similar to the squad setup in Canyon Clash, involving up to nine heroes—three per army. For these battles, adopting a standard attack troop ratio such as 50/20/30 (infantry/lancer/marksman) offers a solid baseline.

In more complex 2v2 or 3v3 encounters where turn order introduces additional randomness, tweaking your troop ratios can be beneficial. Ratios like 52/13/35 or 60/12/28 tend to perform better because armies may fight multiple times, requiring you to factor in troop losses from previous rounds. The effectiveness of these adjustments also depends heavily on hero strength, expedition skills, and gear. Because attack order is unpredictable, it's difficult to precisely measure how changing troop ratios influences the final outcome.

In one-on-one battles without heroes, where randomness is minimized, small adjustments in troop ratios have more immediate effects. Reducing lancer numbers further—such as to 50/10/40 or 60/5/35—can improve results. These instances illustrate how variability in trigger rates of these skills can greatly influence the outcome, emphasizing the importance of troop composition and skill effects.

Labyrinth Exploration and Rewards

Ultimately, the labyrinth presents a challenge similar to exploration, where progression depends on your ability to strengthen your units over time. At certain points, no matter how lucky your RNG, you'll need to improve your raw stats before advancing further, as low initial strength can make subsequent stages nearly impossible.

Each day, you're granted five attempts per zone to face the enemies again after defeat. These attempts reset at midnight UTC. You can strategically use these retries in several ways: adjusting your troop composition by balancing infantry, lancers, and marksmen; experimenting with different hero combinations; or investing upgrade materials to boost your expedition stats, thereby increasing your bonus for that zone. Sometimes, success hinges on brute-force luck — trying to beat the odds by re-rolling hero or troop skills until a favorable outcome occurs, as exemplified in earlier scenarios.

The mode offers various rewards that motivate continued effort. Your first victory in a stage grants special first-win rewards, giving you an incentive to push through initial challenges.

When entering a new zone, you're often presented with an option for a "quick challenge," which allows you to attempt multiple stages at once up to a certain limit set by the game. This limit reflects your current strength and is designed to prevent frustration, similar to warnings when hunting beasts or hiring mercenaries, where the game warns that a deployment might almost certainly fail. However, these warnings aren’t always precise; they simply compare your squad's overall power against the enemy, ignoring the nuanced effects of RNG and skill interactions.

For instance, when I first explored the Land of the Brave, the game stopped me at stage 14-6, but with manual attempts, I managed to reach as far as stage 19-9 — my true limit at that time — by surpassing the initial apparent ceiling through persistence and strategic adjustments.

The different zones follow a weekly rotation schedule, meaning that completing the same stage again in a new cycle will grant raid rewards based on your highest stage completion within each zone.

To estimate your weekly glowstone earnings, simply take the total number of stages you've cleared and multiply that by 10. For instance, if you see that you've cleared 197 stages in Gaia Heart, you will earn 1,970 glowstones for the week.

Think of each successful challenge as a level completion in exploration: you defeat the stage, claim your rewards, and then move forward to face tougher opponents. When a zone resets due to fog, you automatically receive raid rewards corresponding to your highest reached stage before the reset. This enables you to continue your journey from that point, pushing further into the labyrinth.

The glowstone you earn from raids can be spent in the labyrinth shop, where a variety of items are available for purchase. Based on the amount of glowstone accumulated, you might be able to buy most of the shop's offerings weekly, which is excellent news for continuous progression.

Additional resources become accessible as your server advances:

• Mithril becomes available after your server reaches a stage where legendary hero gear can be unlocked, typically around day 40 with the arrival of the second-generation heroes.
• Fire crystal shards are introduced once your server unlocks the war academy, usually around day 220, providing further avenues for strengthening your team.

Reaching the furnace level 19 unlocks the labyrinth, but the weekly glowstone income at this stage is quite limited. Early on, the priority should be gathering mythic general shards, as accumulating a substantial amount during initial generations is challenging.

Once you've established this focus, shift your attention to the lucky hero gear chests and the 100 enhancement XP components. These items are crucial for strengthening your hero equipment and improving overall performance.

Over time, as you progress deeper into the labyrinth, your glowstone earnings will increase, eventually allowing you to purchase all three items regularly each week. At this point, consider investing in mithril. Although it might seem less useful initially and might sit unused for months, accumulating mithril early can provide significant advantages later on.

Next, aim for charm design. Unlike charm guides, which are more plentiful through various events, charm designs are harder to come by and should be prioritized after securing your gear and mithril.
