College Football 27 Dynasty Mode Tips: How Blueprint and Points Work

The Dynasty Blueprint is the ultimate program management hub in EA Sports College Football 27, shifting the mode completely from basic recruiting to an RPG-style executive simulator. At the core of this system is Dynasty Points (DP), which acts as your program’s annual currency and operating budget. To win championships in CFB 27, you must master the delicate balance of earning, managing, and strategically spending these finite points across your entire school ecosystem.

How Dynasty Points (DP) Work

Dynasty Points are the lifeblood of your program's daily and yearly operations. Understanding how they generate—and how quickly they disappear—is key to keeping your team competitive.

  • Use it or lose it: Your DP budget refreshes every single offseason. Unused points do not roll over to the next year, meaning hoarding points for a future season will only result in wasted resources. Use your budget to improve your team today.

  • The Power Gap: A school’s baseline budget is dictated by its core identity grades. Categories like Conference Prestige, Brand Exposure, Stadium Atmosphere, and Program Tradition determine your baseline resource pool.

  • Budget Extremes: This identity system creates a massive financial gap. Top-tier "Blue Bloods" like Ohio State can pull in up to 20,000 DP, while a small mid-major program might start with as little as 500 DP.

  • Earning Boosts: You aren't completely locked into your starting tier. You can earn additional mid-season or postseason DP payouts by hitting Athletic Director (AD) Expectations (such as winning a specific rivalry game) and securing major milestones like making the College Football Playoff.

The 4 Pillars of Spending Your Budget

The Dynasty Blueprint forces you to allocate your DP across four distinct buckets. You can view this via an in-game pie chart to see exactly where your resources are going. Balancing these four areas determines whether your team maintains long-term success or falls apart mid-season.

1. Coaching & Support Staff

In the preseason, you must use DP to hire your offensive/defensive coordinators and your brand-new Support Staff. If you leave support slots unfilled by the end of the preseason, you permanently lose those slots for the year. Investing more points in elite support staff gives your program massive passive buffs, such as reduced player NIL expectations and increased offseason progression.

2. Recruiting NIL

Recruits no longer just care about your playing time or history pitch; they have explicit NIL Point Expectations that act like a scholarship bonus. If you are a small school targeting a 5-star recruit, you will have to overpay in DP to get them interested. Be careful: lowballing a recruit or running out of budget mid-negotiation can permanently fracture the relationship, causing them to completely walk away.

3. Roster NIL (Player Retention)

NIL management doesn't stop once a player signs on the dotted line. Existing players on your roster develop changing financial expectations as they perform and develop. During the offseason, you must allocate a portion of your DP budget directly to your current players to keep them happy and prevent them from entering the Transfer Portal.

4. Facilities Management

Upgrading your program facilities is the best way to secure exponential, long-term program growth. Facilities are broken into 5 tiers: Basic, Competitive, Premier, Elite, and National Powerhouse. Upgrading a tier directly boosts your school's recruiting grade in that category and increases development speed. However, facilities carry annual DP maintenance costs—if you upgrade too quickly and cannot afford the upkeep, the facilities will degrade and players may decommit.

Strategic Tips for Success

  • Fill the Preseason Staff Slots: Never leave DP on the table in the preseason. Hire all 5 support staff positions to unlock maximum passive recruiting and progression boosts right out of the gate.

  • Balance Short-Term vs. Long-Term: If you are rebuilding a small school, don't blow your entire budget on one 5-star recruit's NIL demands. Invest early DP into Facilities to permanently raise your school's baseline grade, which automatically brings in better talent naturally later on.

  • Buy Equipment for Quick Buffs: If you can't afford a massive, permanent facility tier upgrade, spend smaller amounts of DP on Equipment (like training mat upgrades or misting fans). This provides temporary player stat buffs and reduces the roster's Wear & Tear over a grueling season.

  • Keep Your AD Happy: Check your AD's personality profile—some are patient, while others are highly reactionary. Prioritize their three yearly goals above all else, because the bonus DP payouts they grant are vital for small schools attempting to close the financial gap on Blue Bloods.
