Every Needolin Door in Hollow Knight: Silksong and What's Behind Them

Okay, let's talk about those mysterious Needolin doors scattered across Pharloom. If you've been exploring Hollow Knight: Silksong for more than a few hours, you've definitely bumped into a giant, webbed gate with a glowing slot that demands the Needolin ability. I remember the first time I saw one—right in Moss Grotto—and thinking, "What on earth is behind this?" Well, after dozens of hours and a 112% completion file, I can tell you exactly what's waiting for you, which ones are essential, and which ones require a little extra finesse to reach.

These doors are your gateway (literally) to the Weavenests, tucked-away pockets of the map filled with tools, abilities, and some memorable scraps. Most of them just need Needolin, but a few also demand a certain Ancestral Art to even reach the door in the first place. So before you bang your head against a wall, let me walk you through every single one—spoiler-free where it matters, of course.

🕸️ What You're Getting Into

Before we dive into locations, a quick word on Needolin itself. You grab this ability early-ish, but the game doesn't drop it in your lap. Once you have it, these doors open up a whole new layer of exploration. I tracked down five main Needolin doors in my playthrough, though only one is tied directly to the main story. The others? Pure completionist bait—and I fell for every single one. Worth it.

📍 Wormways – Needolin + Faydown Cloak or Clawline

Let's start with the one that tripped me up the most. The Weavenest in Wormways is located left of Bone Bottom, but you can't just stroll there. First, you need to get into Wormways itself, which is locked behind a Simple Key. My pro tip: buy a key from Pebb early on for 500 Rosaries. Farm those next to the Marrow bench—it's quick and way less painful than hunting down a key elsewhere.

Once you're inside Wormways, head far left, then up and left again. The door itself is easy to spot, but you'll need either the Faydown Cloak or Clawline to navigate the approach. Inside Weavenest Karn you'll find the Sharpdart ability. Not game-breaking, but a neat addition for your arsenal. If you're gunning for 100%, this one is non-negotiable.

📍 Moss Grotto – Needolin Only

This is the earliest door you can open, and I highly recommend backtracking here the moment you get Needolin. Head back to the starting area, Moss Grotto, and as you're falling down the long shaft, hug the right wall and take the first opening. Zip past the annoying flying enemies—they don't stop spawning—and you'll find the door to Weavenest Atla.

This place is loaded! It counts as its own separate area with a map, which means a cartographer visit if you're into that. Activate the central mechanism, descend, and you've got options. To the left: the Snare Setter tool, a Spool Fragment, and a dual Mossmother boss fight. That fight threw me off the first time—two of them at once is no joke.

To the right, breakable walls lead to Eva. Here's the kicker: Eva can upgrade your Hunter Crest if you've collected enough Memory Lockets. The final upgrade unlocks Sylphsong, an ability that regenerates Silk every time you rest at a bench. That alone makes this door a priority visit. Trust me, free Silk on benches changes the entire flow of exploration.

📍 Far Fields – Needolin Only (But Bring Speed)

This one's tucked away near where you score the Drifter's Cloak. From that pickup, head further right until you dead-end into Weavenest Cindril. Simple enter, but the real fun starts inside.

After you bench up, dash across the room to snag the Silkspeed Anklets. If you don't dash, the tool literally won't appear—clever design. Now, here's a little secret that made me grin: equip the Anklets AND the Flea Brew tool. Hammer that brew, watch your speed skyrocket, and sprint across the glowing pressure plates. Light them all up and a hidden area below reveals itself, granting you a Rune Harp relic. It's not essential, but it's a deliciously satisfying puzzle.

📍 Bilewater – Needolin Only

Far right of Bilewater, you'll find Weavenest Murglin. If you entered this poison-soaked area through Sinner's Path, just keep pushing right and the door will show up on the map (provided you found the map guy). Inside, sitting on a table, is the Ruined Tool.

This broken thing is fascinating. It can be forged into three completely different tools at three different forges across Pharloom, each costing a Craftmetal. I won't spoil what they become—half the joy is experimenting—but know that your choice matters. Definitely worth the detour if you're into build variety.

📍 The Abyss – Needolin (Main Story)

Finally, the one door you can't miss. Deep in the Abyss, far to the right, a Needolin gate blocks your path. This is mandatory for progression, so you'll naturally end up here. Inside, nab Farsight to the right—that handy item that tells you your completion percentage. Then head to the bottom of the area and you'll unlock the Silk Soar ability.

Silk Soar is a game-changer for traversal, letting you glide on silk threads across huge gaps. If you've been staring at those tantalizingly out-of-reach ledges all game, this is your ticket. The Abyss door might be simple, but its reward reshapes exploration completely.

🎯 Wrapping Up

So that's the full rundown. Five doors, a heap of goodies, and only one tied to the main path. My personal ranking from "drop everything and go" to "come back later": Moss Grotto (Eva's upgrades are too good), Far Fields (Silkspeed Anklets change mobility), Bilewater (mystery forge item), Wormways (Sharpdart is okay), and The Abyss (inevitable). If you're after true completion, you'll hit them all anyway. Just remember to pack that Needolin—and maybe a Simple Key or two. Happy hunting, little spider! 🕷️

As you dive deeper into Pharloom's mysteries, you might find yourself tempted by new adventures or expansions. Whether it's hunting down rare relics or exploring fresh paths in upcoming DLCs, having the right tools at hand can make all the difference. And when it comes to finding the best deals for your gaming needs, it helps to be resourceful.
